Westland is a cowboy supernatural thriller short film produced and created by Harvey Underwood for his 2024 student film at the Norwich University of the arts.   I was supposed to design the concept work for the three main characters of Roxy Lexi and baby 3 gunslinging cowgirls sisters who  take names, and hunt monsters. The characters and costume draws inspiration from the 19th century Cowboys of the United States ,archetypes explored in spaghetti westerns  and inspiration from the show supernatural for costuming.

Roxi, a tough as nails, calm collective individual who leads the group her  design is based on the stereotypical spaghetti western sheriffs look and her costume is inspired by Jessica Drummond in  the 1950s movies Forty guns.  with a purple colour scheme to represent leadership and power.

Lexi  the unhinge sister is a wild dog and addictive but loyal individual inspired by the ne'er-do-well anti-hero found in spaghetti westerns with her costume drawing inspiration from Tom Chaney from True Girt 2010. with a maroon colour palette to represent her unhinge nature and her fiery passion.

Baby  the sweet innocent younger sister who is still learning the ropes of the organisation she is naive but incredibly caring.  baby drawers heavy inspiration from  back to the future 3 1990 ,  with a more childlike approach to the cowboy stereotype.   hair colour palette is a combination of powder white and baby pink representing her soft kind and more feminine nature than her sisters.
