Puppet Fabrication

The SUMMARY

Late Night With Alaska Question is  a proof of concept  following the story line off Local cryptozoologist and aspiring filmmaker, Alaska Question, embarks on a journey across the UK. They interview their celebrity cryptid idols, only to discover that the truth is much harsher than the fantasy they have created. Follow Alaska as they provide a voice to different cryptids’ lives, personalities, and opinions on different taboo subjects that we face every day.

THE MAKE OF TOM MOTHY

The project as a whole aimed to execute a completely sustainably produced short through a mixture of low carbon filming via frame-by-frame traditional animation, recycled materials for puppet and set fabrication, and the utilization of solar energy using Jacquees. My contribution to this project included the initial idea, the narrative structure, and the creation and animation of the puppet Tom Mothy, a character based on the cryptic Mothman. Tom Mothy is entirely constructed from zombie technology  that was silver soldered into a skeletal Puppet frame,  donated fabric  for his clothing and wings and  discarded animal  an added to create his body and fur  by using dry felting needle felting  techniques.
